You might not find a job within the next few weeks, or even the next few months, but that doesn’t mean you should sit around and wait. Taking proactive steps to becoming employed again – or at least earning money again is really important. Here’s what you should do when you’re unemployed:

Figure Out Where You Want To Be

It’s a good idea if you can create a clear picture in your head of where you’d like to be. If you’re not sure, then you can end up meandering to nowhere in particular, and you’ll spend years still trying to figure it all out.

It can take a long time to figure out where you truly want to be anyway, so if that still sounds like too much to you, just figure out where you’d like to go next. Is there a role or an industry that interests you?

Take Care Of Yourself

Don’t allow any negative thoughts or low moods to manifest into nonexistent self-care. Don’t stay in bed till late afternoon, and make sure you still get up, wash, and get dressed.

You’ll feel better, and when you feel good, you tend to do smarter things. You’ll be able to come up with smart ideas and solutions when you feel good, so focus on making yourself feel good everyday.



Improve Your Knowledge And Skill Set

If you know what sort of industry or role you want to be in, then aim to improve your knowledge and skill set. Spend a few hours a day studying and researching. You can find all kinds on YouTube, and even with free online courses. There are so many options, so take advantage of this time as an opportunity for self improvement.

Yes, it can be difficult to look after number one while you have so many other things to worry about. However, if you do not get enough rest and you don’t eat right, your body is going to shut down on you, and this could cost you much more in the long run.
